Patterson Farm in Bucks County, Pennsylvania has been called "The Gateway To Lower Makefield" because its majestic farm views captivate visitors to the area. The historic farm was obtained by Lower Makefield Township in 1998 from farmers Thomas & Alice Patterson. Sadly, since that time the farm that once showed the farmers' caring stewardship and pride of ownership has fallen into disrepair. A portion of the land is preserved with conservation easements, but a number of farmed acres remain unprotected, as well as the land upon which all historic structures are situated. Preservation is critical to the survival of the farm.
Patterson Farm Preservation, Inc. is a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit volunteer organization formed by concerned citizens. Please support the effort to perpetually preserve Patterson Farm for present and future generations.
Patterson Farm is a National Register eligible property. Evidence of Native American habitation has been discovered here. Patterson Farm has produced food since its settlement in 1683 by Quaker immigrant Thomas Janney. Janney escaped religious persecution in England, sailed here with his family on the ship Endeavor, established a home, and served on William Penn's Provincial Council. Today, Patterson Farm is leased to local family farmers who market their crops at their farm store and donate a portion of the harvest to charity.
Patterson Farm Preservation, Inc. stands for preservation of agriculture, heritage, nature.
